Blue Burmese Kanok Dress with detachable train.
It took me nearly 30 hours to finish the dress. But these 30 hours are just for sewing; hours for pattern making, mockup and fitting are not included. 🤭
- Kanok Appliqués: 90% of this dress is handcrafted apart from the seams, especially the Kanok appliqués in the waist area which are cut and hand-sewn piece by piece.
- Lining: Lining is a must for me. 😊 It’s just my personal belief that a dress is not perfect without a lining. I applied lining even to the Burmese tops.
- Detachable train: I thought it would be much more beautiful if I used the same fabric for the train as in the drawing. Since I had very limited yards and couldn’t find any matching fabric at the local fabric store, this tulle fabric is the only option. But, the beauty of this tulle is Kanoks can be easily seen through. ❤️
